Call For Workshops

EXTENDED DEADLINE: 5 November 2021

The Once and Future Fantasies Conference Committee invites writers, artists, and practitioners in creative fields to submit proposals for workshops for our conference, taking place at the University of Glasgow on 13-17 July 2022.

Workshops can respond to the conference’s theme, Once and Future Fantasies (further details on our general CfP here), but the committee is also interested in workshops that more generally explore the creative process with regards to fantasy and the fantastic. We are interested in workshops that focus on video game development, worldbuilding, fantasy prose writing, character creation, fantasy crafting and more. The committee welcomes proposals that will allow conference attendees to engage creatively with fantasy in any medium, whether through writing, drawing, acting, or any other form of active engagement.

We ask for 100-300 word proposals for creative workshops around 90 minutes long (accommodations could be arranged for longer or shorter workshops if needed). Your proposal should include:
• A title that concisely describes your workshop’s focus
• A clear description of what your workshop will entail
• An estimate of how many participants your workshop can accommodate
• Any audio-visual needs (if necessary)

Please submit a 100-300 word proposal and a short bio to oncefuturecon@glasgow.ac.uk and make sure to include “Call for Workshops” in the subject line by 22 October 2021
